Martellus Bennett was a single of the biggest offseason signings in free of charge agency, and the Green Bay Packers had been satisfied to bring him in to give Aaron Rodgers an additional weapon. He was expected to have a large season, but the initial two weeks of the 2017 season have not gone as anticipated. Bennett has gotten off to a slow start off, and the Packers desperately need to have him to step up moving forward.
Following the Packers’ Week two loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the offense is beaten up. Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb went down with injuries and Rodgers started searching to Bennett significantly far more. Bennett ended the game with 5 catches for 47 yards.
Why does the burden fall on Bennett to step up and turn into the big threat that the offense demands? Very just, he is the largest target for Rodgers and if he plays to his complete talent, there is no way an opposing defense can shut him down.
